Use this sensor to detect any object that is located within 2 cm and 450 cm. Use it to activate different projects, such as an alarm to detect someone nearby.

A distance sensor uses the same principle that bats use to fly without running into objects. They emit ultrasonic waves, and if the waves come back, it means that there is an object in front of them, and then they can decide whether to go around it or go after it. Depending on how long the waves take to go and come back, it can be determined if the object is located nearby or farther away. The ultrasonic sensor is made up of 2 different modules: a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter emits ultrasonic waves, sound waves that we cannot hear (like those that bats use). These move forward until they hit an obstacle. When they do, they bounce back toward the sensor until the ultrasonic noise is detected by the receiver module.

Connect it to digital ports 12 and 13 on the 4in1 Build&Code control board. Look at the colors of the cables and the colors of the terminals on the control board to guide you. Each cable should be connected to its color.
